Description
The Volvo P 1800 S 100HP 1964 - The OP 1800 was presented to the public at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1960. This new Volvo sports car had an Italian style and its production began in 1961. The design was by Pelle Petterson and Pietro Frua when the Frua Department belonged to Carrozzeria Italiana Ghia. It was marketed as a touring car, in a 2+2 coupé format. The model became widely known and famous over the years, appearing in some films of the time, and also had a notable appearance and a relevant role in the television series "The Saint", which was in production between 1962 and 1969, in which it was driven by the famous Roger Moore. In 2018, an 1800S belonging to Mr. Irv Gordon (1940–2018) made history by being certified and classified, breaking the record for the world's highest-mileage private vehicle. It was driven by this owner for over 52 years, exceeding 5.23 million km. This beautiful example is equipped with a powerful and reliable 1800cc B18 engine, with 2 SU carburetors and 4 cylinders, delivering 100 hp, coupled to a 4-speed manual gearbox. It presents a magnificent and attractive combination, with a light blue exterior and a black interior, seats, dashboard, and upholstery. It underwent a complete restoration process, accompanied by a portfolio of invoices and photos of this work. It is in fantastic condition and has been certified as a Classic of Historical Interest by the ACP (Automobile Club of Portugal). * This ad was published automatically; all data needs to be confirmed with the seller.
