• Extensive recent expenditure
• Impressive example

Launched in 1970, the Triumph Stag was a luxury grand tourer. Envisioned as a luxury sportscar, it was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz SL class models. All Stags were four-seater convertible coupes but for structural rigidity and to meet new American rollover standards at the time, the Stag required a B-pillar 'roll bar' hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-bar. A new 2.5 litre, V8 designed and developed by Triumph's Harry Webster was later enlarged to 2,997cc.

Originally registered on 5th March 1973, this Stag comes with a good history folder including previous MoT test certificates and has benefitted from extensive recent expenditure. The blue coachwork is a colour that suits the car along with the matching blue interior. The hood is in good order and is easy to fold down. The 3.0 litre V8 engine sounds great, and we are advised the car drives well with the automatic gearbox operating correctly. The enthusiast keeper has clearly cherished this well-priced and handsome Triumph Stag. Is there a more elegant way to enjoy the summer. Consigned by Dominic Lake
