The history of the Simca-Sport starts at the Paris Motor Show in 1948, when Simca unveiled an elegant prototype with bodywork by Pininfarina. Henri Pigozzi, the boss of Simca, was enthusiastic about the car and decided to market it. He entrusted the production to Facel Metalon, in Dreux. The following year, the car was back at the Motor Show in Coupée and convertible form, on the base of the Aronde and with the Simca-Sport appellation. It was an elegant design, which in some ways looked like the Cisitalia Coupée of the time.

The Simca Sport we are offering was sold new to a French industrialist in the Toulouse region. It was then bought by a Renault agent, who preserved the car from 1973 to 1995 before selling it to an important collector, who kept this interesting car till 2014. The chassis, body, engine and gearbox are original, and the car (which has never had an accident) has all the options likely to be available at that time on this model. Thus, it is equipped with scooped hubcaps to improve brake cooling, the original radio, fog lamps at the front... It was restored in the 1980s and the chassis was specifically treated against corrosion. A file, including photos and information about the restoration, comes with the car. The car has participated in numerous events and exhibitions, and with its comprehensive equipment, plus its original patina, makes it a highly desirable car.
