Presented today in a stunning Pacific Green over a beautifully preserved Parchment Connolly Hide interior, this Silver Cloud III is a graceful expression of coachbuilt luxury and postwar British motoring excellence. The Silver Cloud III, introduced in 1962, was the final and most advanced evolution of the Silver Cloud series. It retained the smooth and powerful 6.2-litre V8 from the Cloud II, now enhanced with larger carburetors, an updated distributor, and a higher compression ratio. A GM-sourced 4-speed automatic transmission came as standard, providing a serene and capable driving experience. Visually, the Silver Cloud III featured several design updates, most notably the distinctive quad headlamp arrangement, a more streamlined front end, and improved interior accommodations with individual front seats and more space for rear passengers. According to copies of its original factory build records, chassis LSFU123 was built to U.S. market specification and delivered to Mulliner Park Ward on December 9th, 1963. The car was completed on March 12th, 1964, and shipped from Liverpool to New York the following day aboard the S.S. Media. It was first sold through J.S. Inskip to Fred W. Graupner of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, who kept the car briefly before it entered long-term ownership with Robert Frank of Delray Beach, Florida—a collector who maintained the car for decades. Originally specified with: - Electric windows - Electric aerial - Sundym tinted glass - Radio - Whitewall Firestone tires This Silver Cloud III Continental is a superb example of the last Rolls-Royce model built on a separate chassis, offering the unmistakable craftsmanship and design presence associated with the marque’s golden era. Its rare specification, elegant colour combination, and documented provenance make it a standout piece for collectors and those with a passion for timeless motoring.
