Description

The 2019 Porsche 935 is one of the most dramatic and exclusive track-only models ever to leave Weissach. Built to celebrate Porsche’s 70th Anniversary and the 40th Anniversary of the legendary 935/78 “Moby Dick”, it was unveiled at Rennsport Reunion VI at Laguna Seca as a modern tribute to that iconic long-tail silhouette. Just 77 examples were ever produced, each reserved exclusively for Porsche’s most valued motorsport clients, making the 935 one of the rarest Porsche Motorsport creations.

Developed and assembled by Porsche Motorsport, the 935 is a purpose-built racing machine, featuring bespoke carbon-fibre bodywork and a highly advanced, circuit-focused aerodynamic package. Its dramatic long-tail silhouette, extended proportions and aggressive aero elements were designed entirely around stability and downforce, delivering exceptional confidence and composure at speed.

Clients were offered the opportunity to specify their 935 in one of eight iconic period-inspired liveries, including Gulf, MOMO, Sachs, Vaillant, Salzburg, Interscope, John Player Special and Martini. This particular example was ordered new in the striking heritage Sachs livery, paying tribute to the privateer 935 campaigned by Dick Barbour Racing in the 1980 24 Hours of Le Mans — a specification that perfectly complements the car’s motorsport intent and historical significance.

Power is supplied by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six producing 700 hp, coupled to a 7-speed PDK gearbox and race-optimised limited-slip differential, delivering genuine race-car performance. The chassis is supported by extensive motorsport hardware including centre-lock wheels, 3-way racing dampers, a race-spec brake balance bar and fully adjustable electronic driver aids.

This example was specified with a highly desirable factory option list, including Recaro racing bucket seats with 6-point harnesses, a Cosworth digital dash with integrated data-logger and Sport Chrono, carbon roof, welded-in safety cage, 100-litre FT3 safety fuel cell and a CFK multifunction steering wheel with pit-speed limiter and quick-release coupling, among numerous other track-focused features.

In addition, the car is accompanied by a significant spares package, including additional wheels (with slick tyres), aero components, brake discs and pads, air-jack equipment, intercom system and other race-critical consumables, ideal for owners intending to enjoy the car on circuit.

Numbered 43 of just 77 examples, this Porsche 935 represents an exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire one of Weissach’s most exclusive track creations — a car that offers the next custodian the opportunity to use as intended or to stand as a centre-piece within any serious Porsche collection.
