Offering all manner of clothing, watches, luggage, and vehicle accessories, the Porsche Design lifestyle brand was founded in 1972. At the time of its golden anniversary in 2022, Porsche Classic had just finished restoring a 50-year-old black 911 S 2.4 Targa. In turn, that car inspired the celebratory 992-generation Targa 4 GTS Edition 50 Years Porsche Design.

From a limited production run of 750 cars, this example honours the 1972 Targa courtesy of its triple Black colour scheme. The Black paintwork and Black folding roof section are accompanied by a Black leather interior. The cabin additionally features Slate Grey stitching and Black and Cool Grey fabric Sport-Tex seat centres.

Notable optional equipment on this car includes a leather-wrapped heated GT Sport steering wheel, heated front seats, under-door light puddle lamp projectors, plus rear-axle steering and a front-axle lift system.

Delivered new to The Porsche Heritage Collection in Italy via Porsche Centro Firenze in November 2022, this single-owner 2023 model year Targa 4 GTS benefits from a February 2025 service by its supplying dealership. It displayed just 2,556 kilometres at the time of cataloguing.
