Description

Chassis No. WP0ZZZ99Z4S691426

Just like the legendary 911 and Carrera nameplates, the GT3 is now firmly entrenched in Porsche lore. Named for the FIA international class for GT production cars and now the reserve of the highest-performing naturally aspirated 911, it was hotly debated within Porsche that the GT3 should be named "RS" straight out of the box. Of course, this was not to be, but it was proof positive that Porsche expected greatness from its most focused variant of the new 996-generation 911.

Debuting in 2004, the updated 996.2-generation GT3 was a revelation. The Mezger-derived 3.6-liter water-cooled flat six produced 381 horsepower with a ferocious soundtrack. With a focus on aerodynamics, the powerful, rev-happy engine pushed the slim body and its occupants to a hair-raising 306 km/h. Track performance was equally incredible with improved suspension, incredible turn-in, and larger PCCB brakes, the GT3 was able to deliver a 7 minute 43 second Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time-impressive stuff over 20 years ago. It proved a global sales success as well, casting the GT3 name as a mainstay for all future generations of the 911.

Finished in Basalt Black Metallic with Speed Yellow GT3 graphics over Black upholstery, this 2004 911 GT3 has a subtle yet aggressive presence that hints at the enormous performance potential lurking within. A German-market example in left-hand-drive, it spent time in Japan before being exported in 2025. The odometer shows a mere 5,504 kilometers recorded at the time of cataloging and this GT3 is presented in excellent condition with accompanying handbooks, Japanese-language records, a CarVX Report, and a digital build sheet.

In addition to the standard GT3 equipment, the option list is extensive and includes ten X-Code options from Porsche's storied Sonderwunsch program as detailed on the accompanying build sheet. Notable selections include the Cup Aerokit (XAA), Speed Yellow seatbelts (XSY), and extensive aluminum-look interior trim options for the dash, center console, and rear console. The factory Recaro fixed back sport seats are trimmed in black leather with red deviated stitching. While the GT3 was Porsche's most focused offering in 2004, comfort is not ignored thanks to air conditioning and an updated full-screen aftermarket Pioneer audio head unit.

As stunning to look at as it is to drive, this seminal 911 GT3 benefits from exceptionally low mileage, long-term Japanese history, and an impressive spec sheet with a wealth of special options, making it a superb collector-grade example to add to your stable.
