Description
50 Jahre No. 1268
To celebrate 50 years of the iconic Porsche 911, the brand from Stuttgart, Germany, released a special 50th Anniversary 911 for 2013 and 2014, paying tribute to its legacy while embracing cutting-edge performance. Limited to just 1,963 units worldwide-a nod to the model's debut year-the special edition was based on the seventh generation (991) 911 Carrera S and blended nostalgic design with modern engineering. The rear-wheel drive special edition featured a widened rear track, distinctive bright-finish accents, and retro-inspired Fuchs-style wheels.
Under the rear engine lid, the 50 Jahre 911 carried a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine producing 400 horsepower, allowing it to sprint to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds when specified with the optional seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and Sport Chrono Package. Inside, vintage details like green-lettered gauges and Houndstooth seat inserts referenced earliest 911s, while modern touches like the PCM infotainment system and optional BOSE Sound System kept it current. Altogether, the 50 Jahre 911 served as a nostalgic homage to Porsche's rich heritage, showcasing the evolution of design, technology, and driving pleasure that has defined the 911 since 1963.
First delivered to Porsche Centre Liège on 7 March 2014, this C22 Belgian-market 50 Jahre 911 features limitation number 1268 of 1963 examples produced. The car was selected in Black, thought to be the rarest of the three colors available for the model, along with a Black leather interior with Dark Silver accents. Naturally the interior featured the timeless, yet modernized, Pepita houndstooth fabric seat inserts. The limited-edition, model-specific trim also featured "911 50" logos on the gauges, screens, door sill guards, seat headrests and brushed aluminum trim above the glove box. Even for such a well-equipped model from the factory, this example was additionally specified with heated seats, a rear wiper, cruise control, a top tinted windshield, ParkAssist, an electric glass sunroof, BOSE Surround Sound System, pedals and footrest in aluminum, and automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors with rain sensor. Perhaps most important is the selection of the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and Sport Chrono Package that shorten the sprint from zero to 100 km/h from 4.5 seconds to just 4.1.
The special edition 911's service book is filled with numerous stamps from Porsche Centre Liège, Porsche Centre Knokke, and Porsche Centrum Rotterdam as well as independent specialists indicating a well-maintained example over its 50,500 kilometers at the time of consignment. Additionally, the car features a full-car paint protection film (PPF) treatment to further maintain the notoriously delicate non-metallic Black paint finish. The interior features little wear further highlighting the fastidious attention, care, and upkeep the 50 Jahre 911 number 1268 has received. Most recently, in March 2025, the 911 visited the Porsche specialist shop and received an oil change with filter, new engine and cabin air filters, and a diagnostics check among other items. Invoices on file and available for review between just two careful owners detail the work completed between 2016 and today.
Just over 10 years after its debut, the 50 Jahre 911 continues to impress. It deftly melded numerous beloved attributes found in the 901 and earliest 911s with conveniences that continue to feel modern today. The model is highly collectible and sought after and none more so when specified in a rare shade, with a generous group of additional options, and a known service history-just the type of attributes that 50 Jahre number 1268 has in spades.
