The Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cup – model year 1992, based on the Carrera RS – combines the allure of the air-cooled 964, the technical similarities to the Carrera RS, and a genuine Porsche motorsport history.

The Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cup offered here is one such very rare racing version of the 964 from 1992, of which only 112 units were built on the RS platform. It was sold as a factory-direct delivery in Stuttgart – new-car invoice from Porsche available – in January 1992 to its first owner, the well-known Swiss race car driver René Vogt, and imported into Switzerland. In 1992 and thereafter, he successfully competed in international races with this Cup car.

Less than 1,000 km ago, the car was restored by René Vogt of Vogt Motorsport and returned to the condition in which he had personally raced it back then. The entire body was ice-blasted inside and out, the engine was completely overhauled, and the clutch, pressure plate, and door panels are all new. This stunning and powerful Porsche 911 Carrera RS Cup is, from MOT, in technically flawless, immaculately maintained condition and drives breathtakingly well.

Until then, the Porsche 911 Carrera 2 had served as the basis for the Porsche Cup, which has been held since 1990. This Cup car, however, is based on the Porsche 911 Carrera RS, which was introduced in 1992. With it, the Porsche racing department in Weissach further developed the Porsche 911 Carrera Cup. For the 1992 model year, engine output was increased to 275 PS. Weight-saving measures, such as thin glass panes in the doors and rear windows, further optimized the power-to-weight ratio. The front wheel hubs were now made of aluminum, and 18-inch magnesium racing rims replaced the aluminum wheels of the predecessor. This was the first time 18-inch wheels were used, replacing the 17-inch ones. Another important change involved the ABS: By pressing firmly on the brake pedal, the ABS could be deactivated in an emergency, allowing the wheels to lock up.

Der Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cup – Modelljahr 1992, auf Carrera-RS-Basis – verbindet die Faszination des luftgekühlten 964, die technische Nähe zum Carrera RS und eine echte Porsche-Motorsport-Historie.

Beim hier angebotenen Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cup handelt es sich um eine solche, sehr rare Rennsportversion des 964 aus dem Jahre 1992, von denen lediglich 112 Exemplare auf RS-Basis gefertigt wurden. Er wurde als Werksauslieferung in Stuttgart, Neuwagenrechnung von Porsche vorhanden, im Januar 1992 an den Erstbesitzer und bekannten Schweizer Rennfahrer, René Vogt, verkauft und in die Schweiz eingeführt. Im Jahre 1992 und darauffolgend bestritt er international erfolgreich Rennen mit diesem Cup-Fahrzeug.

Das Auto wurde vor nicht einmal 1'000 km von René Vogt, Vogt Motorsport, restauriert und in den Zustand zurückversetzt, wie er es damals persönlich in den Rennen eingesetzt hatte. Die gesamte Karosserie wurde innen und aussen eisgestrahlt, der Motor komplett revidiert, die Kupplung und Druckplatte wie auch die Türverkleidungen sind neu. Dieser wunderschöne und brachiale Porsche 911 Carrera RS Cup befindet sich, ab MFK, in technisch einwandfreiem, top gepflegtem Zustand und fährt sich atemberaubend.

Die Basis des seit 1990 ausgetragenen Porsche-Cup war bis anhin der Porsche 911 Carrera 2. Dieses Cup-Fahrzeug basiert jedoch auf dem Porsche 911 Carrera RS, der ab 1992 angeboten wurde. Die Porsche-Rennabteilung in Weissach entwickelte damit den Porsche 911 Carrera Cup weiter. Mit dem Modelljahr 1992 wurde die Motorenleistung auf 275 PS angehoben. Gewichtsoptimierungen wie z.B. Dünnglasscheiben in den Türen und hinten, optimierten das Leistungsgewicht weiter. Die Radnaben vorne wurden nun aus Aluminium gefertigt und 18-Zoll Magnesium-Rennfelgen ersetzten die Aluminium-Räder des Vorgängers. Erstmals wurden die Räder im 18-Zollformat eingesetzt und lösten die 17-Zöller ab. Eine wichtige Änderung betraf auch das ABS: Durch einen kräftigen Tritt auf das Bremspedal war das ABS im Notfall abschalt- und damit die Räder blockierbar.
