The Fosse Way Collection comprises nine rare and eclectic motor cars, thoughtfully chosen and carefully maintained by a respected private collector, and each now offered with considerable recent investment.
The arrival of the Porsche 911 (964) marked an important evolution of the iconic 911, combining its unmistakable silhouette and rear-engined character with significant advances in refinement, handling and technology. Today, the 964 Carrera 2 is increasingly appreciated for its blend of classic 911 character and modern usability, while the Cabriolet offers the added appeal of open-top motoring. This 1990 example is particularly attractive, being right-hand drive, C16 (UK-market) specification and fitted with the desirable manual gearbox.
Finished in Baltic Blue Metallic, complemented by a Marrakesh Brown leather interior and dark blue hood, the car presents an elegant and period-appropriate colour combination. Showing 88,0058 miles from new, it also benefits from an engine rebuild approximately 6,000 miles ago, providing an important part of its appeal.
The current owner, a private collector with a particular interest in rare, right-hand-drive manual cars, acquired the Porsche in 2020. Over the past five years, approximately £40,000 has been invested in the car, with the aim of comprehensively refurbishing and improving an already promising example.
The work was initially entrusted to Project Shop in Bicester, where the car underwent an extensive programme that included a respray, a bespoke 'Marrakesh' interior, and a mechanical overhaul. This represented a substantial commitment to both the presentation and overall condition of the car.
The final stage of the mechanical overhaul was completed by GTC Engineering in Silverstone, adding further specialist attention to the programme of work. More recently, the car was serviced in August 2025 by Porsche 911 specialists PRO 9, with the service including replacement of both the upper and lower spark plugs.
Combining its attractive colour scheme, manual transmission, open-top configuration, and substantial recent expenditure, this 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet offers a compelling proposition for the Porsche enthusiast. It benefits from a considered programme of refurbishment to a high standard, while retaining the engaging driving experience that makes the 964 such a desirable generation of the 911.
