French title - Rare manual gearbox version - Body-off restoration The 280 SE convertibles and coupes were the first Mercedes-Benz sports cars powered by a V8. The combination of superb performance and elegant styling makes the 3.5 liter cars very desirable. These cars use the same platforms and bodies than the 6-cylinder models but they are more luxurious. These were small production cars, with only 4,205 units built, amongst them more convertibles than coupes. The car on offer is a charcoal grey coupe of French origin. The condition is beautiful what with the black leather interior and new wool carpet. The headliner was redone according to origin. This work and paint (body-off restoration showing a very healthy hull) and mechanicals were done in 2013/2014. The engine was rebuilt (invoice), as well as shock absorbers and brake pads. The oil pressure at idle is good and the alignments of the body panels are perfect, with splendid woodwork in Macassar. This coupe comes equipped with long range Cibié headlamps and Grundig radio from the period, but with the possibility of connecting a I- Pod.
