Produced from 1963 to 1971, the Mercedes-Benz W113 is a two-seat roadster introduced at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. These cars have a distinctive, patented, slightly concave hardtop, which inspired the "Pagoda" nickname. All models were equipped with an inline-six cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection. The bonnet, trunk lid, door skins are made of aluminum to reduce weight. Production of the 230 SL commenced in June 1963 and ended on 5 January 1967.

This 230SL Roadster was one-owner example owned by a former MTV executive, housed and used at his Long Island, New York - Hampton's residence. During the past twenty years and while in this ownership, it was restored mechanically and cosmetically. Most of the restoration was performed by Gregory Johnston, well known on the East End of Long Island for his Mercedes SL restorations. Approximately six years ago, this SL was sold from its one-family ownership to its next and most recent custodian, a resident of Sand Point, New York. While in this ownership, this Pagoda has been used seasonally, never in inclement weather and mostly for simply journeys to and from the golf course.

Serviced when and where needed to keep in excellent condition, today, although an older restoration, this SL still presents wonderfully. It looks, feels and drives exactly as a proper Pagoda should, it's cosmetic and mechanical condition are both excellent and all systems are working as originally intended by the factory when new.

This 230 SL Pagoda is accompanied by its factory jack, lug wrench, tools, owner's manual as well as its factory convertible top levers and is ready for immediate use and enjoyment.
