Mercedes-Benz 190-Serie 190 Automaat (W201), 1989. One owner, 54,972 km, service books from new.

The Mercedes-Benz 190 Series, known internally as the Baureihe W201, marks an important chapter in the history of the German marque. In the early 1980s, Mercedes-Benz decided (to take on BMW's 3 Series) to enter a new compact segment. The 190 Series was their masterstroke. In 1982 the first 190 rolled off the line, and so began a success story that gave the brand a permanent place in the world of the sporty, luxurious mid-range saloon. The 190 Series was soon praised for its uncompromising build quality, technical refinement and modern design. With the introduction of the 190 E, where the 'E' stands for 'Einspritzung', meaning petrol injection, the bar was raised even higher. For the high-mileage driver the 190 D soon followed, with a newly developed four-cylinder diesel engine (OM601) that, as it later turned out, would run for many hundreds of thousands of miles.
