•One of the final carburettor-equipped Maserati 3500 GTs produced before the introduction of fuel injection

•Equipped with Borrani wire wheels, electric windows and additional front cabin ventilation intakes
•Comprehensive restoration documented by more than 500 photographs

Originally delivered through Maserati Distributors Inc. in Beverly Hills, this 1961 Maserati 3500 GT represents a particularly desirable late carburettor-production example, retaining its matching-numbers drivetrain and original factory colour combination.
The car is presented in its original Blu Sera Metallizzato (Max Meyer 16.439) over red Connolly leather (PAC1603), a sophisticated and highly period-correct specification complemented by Borrani wire wheels.
Its factory equipment is equally compelling, comprising the ZF S5/17 five-speed manual gearbox, limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes, electric windows and additional front air intakes for improved cabin ventilation.
A comprehensive restoration was undertaken with a strong emphasis on authenticity and preservation of the car’s original specification. The aluminium Touring Superleggera bodywork was stripped completely to bare metal before being refinished in its original Blu Sera Metallizzato, while the chrome was professionally replated or replaced with components manufactured to original specification.
The interior was fully retrimmed using correct Connolly leather in the original red colour, faithfully reproducing the factory materials and presentation. The electrical system was completely rewired, while the mechanical components underwent an extensive overhaul to ensure both reliability and proper driving characteristics.
The entire restoration is supported by an exceptionally detailed photographic archive comprising more than 500 images, providing a transparent record of the work carried out.
With its matching-numbers drivetrain, matching original colours, highly desirable factory specification and comprehensively documented restoration, this 1961 Maserati 3500 GT Touring Superleggera represents a particularly attractive proposition for the discerning collector.
