Description

  • A desirable “Series 1” example of one of Lancia’s greatest homologation specials
  • Finished in factory-correct Rosso Corsa over a black interior
  • A regular entrant to historic rally events and eligible for many more

Launched in 1965, Lancia’s striking Fulvia Coupé was soon put to work on the rally stages of Europe. The standard 1.2-litre roadgoing model was given the “HF” or “High Fidelity” treatment in 1966, and successive 1.3-litre homologation specials followed. In 1969, the final evolution arrived—the Coupé Rallye 1.6 HF—boasting a 300-cc increase in displacement and a total output of 115 horsepower (or 130 horsepower in “1016” trim).

Nicknamed ‘Fanalone’, which translates as “big headlamps”, the model’s most noticeable feature was its seven-inch Carello lights. Its impressive specification also included a five-speed gearbox, steel wishbones, and magnesium Cromodora wheels—not to mention a lightweight aluminium bonnet, boot lid, and doors that contributed to a kerb weight of just 850 kilograms. The featherweight Fulvia proved to be a force in competition, with Sandro Munari and Mario Mannucci winning the Rallye Monte-Carlo in 1972.

Presented in period-correct Rosso Corsa, this Series 1 example, boasting the desirable earlier handbrake setup, has been configured for historic rallying; its accompanying FIA Technical Passport classifies the Lancia in the FIA GT20 category. The Fulvia has been enjoyed by its consigning owner in numerous historic events and rallies including the Plenai Classic and Arosa Hill Climb in 2016, the 2019 Tour Auto, and the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique in 2023.

Currently residing in Switzerland, the Lancia is equipped with the requisite competition modifications including roll cage, harnesses, bucket seats, rally timer, standby heater for use in colder climates, as well as supplementary parts including eight spare wheels. Eligible for noteworthy events such as the Tour Auto and Modena Cento Ore, the Lancia is an ideal tool to participate in some of rally racing’s finest spectacles.
