This is a series II Low Body car,that is 1 of just 105 cars built by the factory, equiped with the V12 4.0 liters Dallara´s engine of 374HP with 6 Weber carburettors and ZF 5-speed transmission. This first design evolution of the Countach was inspired by Walter Wolf´s car (F1 owner) and the upgrade jobs done. The series II was equipped the widest wheels available at the time (Pirelli P7 205/ 50 in the front and 345 /35 in the rear). Thanks to the changes in the front spoilers , the carismathic O.Z “phone dial” wheels, the NACA body scoops and the periscopical air intakes added with the legendary scissors doors and the rear functional epoxy aluminum wing makes that this Low body example was the “king of the teenager´s poster war”.

This Low Body unit was first delivery in Germany and has only two owners from new, it is finished in the evocative colour combination of Bianco with black leather interior and black alcantara dash. The car have actually 46.000 Kilometres and is believed to be genuine and can be substantiated by the history file. This is a matching number car with all the options available and from day one like the rear wing , which was a $ 5,000 optional extra, the Alpine stereo and special TS 1690 speakers, The car comes with his original “Raid” black leather steering wheel and tool set.

The paintwork is in average condition and we suggest a full new paint job. The finish to the cabin shows an unmolested and original patina interior. Upon close inspection the body work is straight and without any crash or rust. The history file contains its original sales brochure, book pack, tools, some German paperwork and bills and receipts for recent work completed. This extremely rare Lamborghini has been the subject of significant recent service and has been fully checked over by one of the leading Lamborghini experts in Germany in 2013. They removed the engine and re-commissioned the clutch, whilst checked over the car for any perishable items that required replacing. The engine bay has been fully detailed and put together with superb attention to detail.

The LP400 S models have a purity that the later cars simply lack. As the wheel arches and panels expanded ever wider into the late 1980s, these early cars remained true to the original Gandini design. With LP400 ‘Periscopio’ models hitting the heights in recent years, logic suggests these slightly later ‘S’ models represent superb value in comparison.
