Description

"The Jensen Interceptor is a sporting GT-class car that was hand built at the Kelvin Way Factory near Birmingham between 1966 and 1976. Jensen had extensively used glass-reinforced plastic for the fabrication of body panels in the preceding two decades but the new Interceptor saw a return to a steel body-shell designed by an outside firm, Carrozzeria Touring of Italy. The early bodies were Italian built by Vignale before production by Jensen themselves in West Bromwich began; with subtle body modifications. The Interceptor took its styling cues from the Brasinca Uirapuru, with a distinctive large, curving wraparound rear window that doubled as a tailgate. The original specification included electric windows, reclining front seats, a wood rimmed steering wheel, radio with twin speakers, reversing lights and an electric clock. Power steering was included as standard from September 1968.
This delightful Interceptor Convertible was imported into the UK by the vendor. He has invested substantial time and funds to ensure the car now presents in excellent order throughout. The black interior trim is delightful and complemented by the beautiful wood dashboard with a plethora of switches and gauges. The maroon coachwork is in very good condition, as is the chrome work and the aluminium wheels. The 7200cc V8 engine sounds superb and runs very well, this is mated to an automatic gearbox which functions as it should. Supplied with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 1st February 2019, this handsome left hand drive Jensen is offered for sale at a very realistic estimate."
