Introduced in 1996, the Jaguar XK8 represented an important new chapter for the Coventry marque, combining elegant grand touring proportions with Jaguar's newly developed AJ-V8 engine. Offered in both Coupe and Convertible form, the range gained a formidable flagship in 1998 with the arrival of the XKR, its 4.0 litre V8 benefiting from supercharging to deliver effortless performance worthy of Jaguar's sporting heritage.

This 1998 XKR is considerably more distinctive than a standard production example, having been converted from new by renowned Jaguar tuning specialist Paramount Performance to its comprehensive Donington specification. One of the earliest companies to specialise in the performance enhancement of modern Jaguars, Paramount developed an enviable reputation for extracting additional performance while retaining the underlying character of the original car.The Donington package transformed the XKR into a significantly more focused grand tourer. Upgrades comprise a speed-shift gearbox conversion, 19-inch alloy wheels, uprated suspension, selectable steering, remapped ECU and uprated supercharger, together with Paramount exhaust and induction systems. A Paramount aerodynamic body kit provides a suitably purposeful appearance, while a steel dashboard trim kit distinguishes the cabin. The engine modifications are understood to raise output to approximately 400bhp, accompanied by sharper handling and considerably enhanced road presence.

With a notable provenance, having previously been owned by both the supplying dealer and the owner of Paramount Performance, its comprehensive history file includes a stamped maintenance book and earlier invoices from respected Jaguar specialist Racing Green, documenting significant expenditure including replacement timing chains and guides, together with a replacement gearbox. More recent maintenance has included replacement of the fuel pump and alternator, while the ABS pump has been rebuilt and serviced. The Jaguar is accompanied by its handbooks, V5 registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until July 2026.
