Description
Classic colour combination of green with beige interior
Smooth and effortless 4.0-litre V8 producing 284 hp
Originally based in California
Registered in Germany since 2012
When Jaguar introduced the XK8 in 1996, it had some considerable shoes to fill. The new grand tourer replaced the XJS and, with its flowing lines, deliberately recalled the great Jaguar sports cars of the past. In Convertible form especially, the XK8 combined classic British elegance with the effortless composure that simply belongs in a Jaguar of this class.
Beneath the long bonnet sat the newly developed 4.0-litre V8 from Jaguar’s AJ-V8 family. With 284 hp and an automatic transmission, the XK8 was less an uncompromising sports car than a fast and refined grand tourer. With the roof down, that suited it particularly well: ample performance, plenty of comfort and a V8 that never needed to prove just how much power it had.
Built in 2002, this XK8 4.0 Convertible is presented in a particularly classic colour combination. Green paintwork is complemented by a beige interior – a Jaguar from the turn of the millennium could hardly look more British.
Its life, however, began not in England but beneath the Californian sun. The XK8 was based in Corona, California, before being imported from the USA to Europe in 2010.
It was subsequently registered in Germany in 2012. Its journey from California, via its importation to Europe, through to German registration is therefore traceable and documented. An elegant Convertible for the sort of travelling where the journey itself is already a very good reason for setting off.
