If you regularly check our website, then you probably know: we get quite enthusiastic about a good Jaguar XK. Without a doubt it is one of the most beautiful and fastest sports cars of its time. New in our stock is this beautiful XK140 OTS SE. The first abbreviation stands for Open Two Seater, we will come back to 'SE' later. The OTS is immediately recognizable by the slim waistline and the convertible top that is concealed behind the front seats, which makes the lines of the body stand out even more.

The stylish black example you see here hit the road in 1956 and according to the Heritage Certificate it did so in exactly the same color scheme as you see in the photos here: 'black on red'. The wire wheels finish it off, of course, and then we are only talking about the looks. The state is also very healthy. The body is beautiful, it has been professionally restored in the past. The doors close very nicely and well, just like the rest of the body parts. The chrome bumpers are very neat, the same applies to the other chrome parts such as moldings and the correct Lucas spotlights.
It may sound logical, but we'll say it just to be sure: this XK is of course free of damage or other unwanted trouble.

The warm red interior invites you to take a seat and not to get out. The leather, which is in top condition, is great and with the thin four-spoke steering wheel in your hand, it is difficult not to want to drive away immediately. In front of you is a classic dashboard, also made of red leather, with an extensive clock shop with gauges from Smiths. The instruments are centrally located, with the speedometer right in your passenger's field of vision. Small consolation: with any luck your passenger will not realize that they are miles, because you drive very easily at high speeds with this car.

Under the long bonnet, the beautiful design-wise 3.4 liter six-cylinder with two overhead camshafts, also the engine with which the car left the factory at the time. Standard already good for a very appealing 190 hp. This makes the XK140 one of the fastest cars of its time, but it was also possible to opt for the SE version, with a C-Type head. This means that the six-cylinder did not deliver 190 hp at 5,500 rpm, but 210 hp at 5,750 rpm. An ability that in those days caused lower jaws to sink. And that's exactly the version you see here.

The engine of the XK140 you see here has already been overhauled and has been exceptionally well maintained. The car, which has been owned by the same owner for the last twenty years, comes with a very thick pack of invoices from which it can be concluded that not only the engine, but the entire car has been very well maintained. Everything that was done to the car has been tracked and invoices have been kept. The invoices date from 2001 to very recent.

In short: a beautiful Jaguar XK140 in a perfect color combination, in perhaps the most popular version and in a very good state of maintenance.
