Description
1963 JAGUAR MK2 3.8
Serial Number: 222247
• Formerly owned by Pierre Bergé
• Sold by our firm as part of his estate in 2018
• English green, beige leather
• Power steering, air conditioning, and four power windows
No Reserve
Unveiled by William Lyons at Earls Court on October 2, 1959, the Jaguar Mk2 continued the brand’s line of compact sedans. Its 3.8-liter version produces 220 ch and can reach 200 km/h—performance figures that contributed to its reputation as a sporty sedan.
First registered on May 18, 1963, this car belonged for many years to Pierre Bergé, a patron of the arts, businessman, and co-founder of the Yves Saint Laurent fashion house. He regularly used it with Yves Saint Laurent for their travels. Our auction house sold it in 2018 during the sale of the Pierre Bergé estate.
It features an English green exterior paired with a beige leather interior. Four power windows, power steering, and air conditioning were added over the years to enhance its comfort.
A complete restoration was carried out by S.A.O. in 1990, the quality of which was confirmed by an expert appraisal in 2011. During that same period, Montmartre Automobiles applied a fresh coat of paint, refurbished or replaced a large portion of the chrome trim, and performed a complete mechanical overhaul, particularly on the seals, the fuel pump, and the radiator.
Acquired in 2023 by its current owner, it has since undergone upgrades and cosmetic enhancements—for which no invoices are included—designed to maintain its appearance.
Linked to two iconic figures in French fashion and culture, this Mk2 invites its next owner to continue its story behind the wheel of a British sedan built for touring.

A full restoration was completed by S.A.O. in 1990, the quality of which was confirmed by a 2011 appraisal. Around the same time, Montmartre Automobiles repainted the car, refurbished or replaced much of the chrome, and performed a full mechanical service, including work on seals, the fuel pump, and the radiator.
Acquired by its current owner in 2023, it has since undergone further mechanical and cosmetic work to maintain its appearance, though no invoices were provided.
Linked to two iconic figures of French fashion and culture, this Mk2 invites its next owner to continue its story in a British sedan equipped for touring.
