Description

Among the most celebrated automotive designs of the 20th century, the Jaguar E-Type electrified the motoring world on its debut at Geneva in 1961, and has never lost its extraordinary power to captivate. Enzo Ferrari himself described the original as the most beautiful car ever made, and it is a judgment with which history has concurred. Beyond its sensational appearance, the E-Type offered genuinely remarkable performance for its era, combining Jaguar’s proven twin-cam XK engine with sophisticated independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes.

This 2+2 example from the Series 1.5 – produced during the transitional period between the Series I and Series II, and incorporating the revised and more practical 2+2 cabin configuration – combines additional passenger and luggage space with the essential character and visual drama of the early E-Type. This Jaguar has been thoughtfully and substantially enhanced with uprated braking, a five-speed gearbox conversion, and triple SU carburetors.

Taken together, these enhancements were completed with the intention of making this example more suited for modern driving while preserving the performance and unmistakable presence that have made the E-Type an enduring icon of British motoring.
