The E-Type then found its way home to the UK in the 1980’s before undergoing meticulous restoration and conversion work by a renowned marque specialist who uprated almost every aspect of the car to ensure that it would be one of the most competitive examples. Finished in Silver with a works-style hardtop and complementary silver peg drive alloy wheels. The interior features a full roll cage and competition bucket seat (a 2nd seat was fitted in June 2021). No aspect of the car was disregarded during the restoration with the car being stripped to its bare shell. Works were completed in 1996 and estimated to have cost ~ £100,000 (invoices and photographic record on file). The car was then raced for around five years between 1996 – 2001 before being sold in December 2001. It was then purchased by a gentleman who loved Historic GT racing and in particular the Lightweight E-types. He never raced the E-type, as he did not have a race licence, and even after one had been obtained the car was used primarily for track days or for testing days to as
