- Restoration and conversion completed by marque specialist in 1996 - Supplied new to Jaguar racer Peter Lindner - Cost of restoration and conversion circa £100,000 - Invoices and photographic records on file - Raced circa 1996 – 2001 - Made road legal in 2011 Manufactured on 3rd July 1963, left-hand drive chassis number ‘879769’ was despatched to famous German Jaguar dealer and racer, Peter Lindner. The E-Type then found its way home to the UK in the 1980’s before undergoing meticulous restoration and conversion work by a renowned marque specialist who uprated almost every aspect of the car to ensure that it would be one of the most competitive examples. Finished in Silver with a works-style hardtop and complementary silver peg drive alloy wheels. The interior features a full roll cage and competition bucket seat (a 2nd seat was fitted in June 2021). No aspect of the car was disregarded during the restoration with the car being stripped to its bare shell. Works were completed in 1996 and estimated to have cost ~ £100,000 (invoices and photographic record on file). The car was then raced for around five years between 1996 – 2001 before being sold in December 2001. It was then purchased by a gentleman who loved Historic GT racing and in particular the Lightweight E-types.
