Not for the faint of heart!! These words certainly apply to the Jaguar D-Type that we are pleased to offer on behalf of the owner. But what a fantastic car this is, and what a joy it is to drive this tribute to the legendary Le Mans Jaguars of yesteryear. The original has become unaffordable for many, but a recreation like the one developed by RAM UK is a perfect alternative. Just step inside through the tiny doors, and once you’re seated in the racy interior, the fun begins. With the push of the start button, the 4.2-liter six-cylinder engine roars to life with a sound that gives you goosebumps. Pulling away is a breeze, and the clutch and gearbox are simple and light to operate. Once the engine is properly warmed up, this Jag really comes to life—super powerful and with a magnificent roar, you’ll find yourself shifting through the gears, an addictive experience thanks in part to the distinctive sound of air being drawn in through the Weber carburetors. The engine was recently tuned on a dynamometer by the specialists at BAS Autoservice and delivers a impressive 238 pk with 383 Nm of torque.

This D-Type was purchased in 2005 by its sole Dutch owner from The School Garage in Derbyshire, England, with a mileage of just 00078 miles. This owner had been a Jaguar enthusiast for a long time and decided that this was the perfect D-Type recreation to bring to the Netherlands. At the time, the RDW still permitted a license plate on these cars, so the owner drove home with AM-02-51, the 1970 license plate that is still on the car today. After enjoying the car for many years, it hasn’t been driven much in recent years due to circumstances, and this year the decision was made to sell it. Upon its arrival, we first gave the car a complete service, and now it drives like new again and is ready to provide its new owner with many years of driving pleasure. The car is waiting eagerly in our showroom, and we’d be happy to tell you more about it over a cup of coffee.
