Description
Registration number: IS-06-67
This is a car with character, history and unmistakable style. Meet the Iso Rivolta IR 300 GT. A true masterpiece that began… with a refrigerator.
Iso was once in the business of making fridges. But after World War II, Renzo Rivolta took the helm and steered the company in a completely different direction. From refrigerators to motorcycles, and by 1953, to the iconic Iso Isetta: a quirky little bubble car that became such a hit, BMW licensed the design. And that brought in serious money.
So what does an Italian do with money and a passion for cars? He builds a GT. But not some fragile diva. Renzo wanted a grand tourer you could drive every day, one that combined comfort, space and performance. To make it happen, he enlisted Giotto Bizzarrini—yes, the same man behind the Ferrari 250 GTO—and Bertone for the design. The result? The Iso Rivolta IR 300.
What sets this car apart is its perfect blend of Italian design and American muscle. Under the hood lies a Chevrolet V8 from the Corvette, paired with an automatic transmission to give it that true grand touring spirit. No fussy mechanics or high-strung tech—just turn the key and enjoy the deep, satisfying growl of a classic V8.
Our example is from 1968 and is in exceptional condition. It was fully restored by specialists in Modena, the same region that brought icons like the Miura back to life. You can feel the craftsmanship in every detail: the paint has a rich, lustrous finish, the chrome sparkles beautifully, the wheels are immaculate, and the interior? Simply stunning. Take a look at the photos on our website to see for yourself.
Finished in “Blu Sera” on the outside, paired with a warm “pelle di terracotta” leather interior, this coupe strikes a perfect balance between elegance and sportiness. Everything feels just right—from the stitching to the trim, even the scent of the leather is pure Italian indulgence. And it drives wonderfully too. The steering, shifting, and handling all come together to deliver an experience that feels as refined as it does spirited.
Only about 800 IR 300 GTs were ever built. So you’re not just looking at a gorgeous classic, but also a rare one. And this particular example comes with air conditioning—perfect for cruising Lake Garda in the summer or simply enjoying a smooth ride down the A1.
The Iso Rivolta is a car for connoisseurs. For those who look beyond the usual Italian names. Who appreciate heritage, engineering and design wrapped into something genuinely unique.
