Guide price: £30000 - £35000. <div><div><div><div><ul><li>The Capri's 'swan song' in that distinctive colour of Brooklands Green</li><li>Remarkable example in fabulous condition and owned by Mark Blundell</li><li>Only 12.800 miles indicated-fully documented. It's not too late</li></ul></div><div><br /></div><div>The Capri 280 was the final limited edition run of the legendary Ford Coupé which had first appeared back in 1969. Ford originally intended to make 500 turbo-charged vehicles (by Turbo Technics) complete with gold alloy wheels but a change of production planning meant a name change to Capri 280. These cars featured a limited slip differential, a full leather Recaro interior, and 15-inch, seven-spoke alloy wheels to complement the 2.8 injected V6 engine. Just 1,038 were ever made and all were finished in Brooklands Green, resulting in them, inevitably becoming known as 'Brooklands Capris'.</div><div><br /></div><div>This superb car has covered just 12,800 miles and has undoubtedly been cosseted for its entire life. A time-warp car if ever there was one, this is a completely usable classic, and is presented to us in incredible condition. It has recently emerged from storage and comes complete with a superb history file detailing its ownership back to the 1980s when the car was laid up as a result of an injury to its owner at the time. In 2007, with an indicated mileage of just 8,820 miles, it was rescued from storage and recommissioned, including being painted, and the leather and wheels refurbished. </div><div><br /></div><div>The car then joined a couple of separate Ford collections before ultimately becoming the prized possession of its last keeper in 2009. Upon moving to South Africa, he took the car with him and it proudly sat amongst his small collection of special Fords in SA, naturally being regularly polished and admired. There are a number of invoices from that period covering mechanical attention and further documents detailing shipping, taxation in SA, and more. The Capri's owner's file also contains the original stamped service book, various handbooks, the sound system operating guide, as well as period brochures and photographs. The car will be freshly MOT'd before the sale.</div><div>Finding a comparable Capri to this one is almost certainly a mission beyond most and, as a fantastic example of a particularly rare version of Ford's ground-breaking coupé, truly deserves to be amongst the collection of someone for whom only the best is good enough. </div></div></div></div><div><br /></div>
