- Elegant, stylish GT – a real baby Ferrari
- Rare colour 163 Rosso Ossido
- Appealing car
Introduced in 1967, the Fiat Dino coupé was intended to be a genuine GT, with space for four passengers to travel at high speed in great safety and comfort. Commissioned by Bertone, the legendary designers Giugiaro and Gandini turned their hand to its styling, which was acclaimed by critics when it was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. With its modern design featuring a five-speed gearbox, limited-slip differential and all-round disc brakes, Giovanni Agnelli, the industrial tycoon, was among the rich owners to appreciate the model. The Dino was equipped with an all-aluminium 2-litre or 2.4-litre V6, derived from the Dino 196 racing engine which had been developed by Ferrari. More elegant than sporting, the coupé was sufficiently large and roomy to accommodate four adults comfortably. Its safer and more compliant handling than the Spider made it a versatile GT which was pleasant to drive.
This Fiat Dino 2400 coupe was introduced in 1971 and delivered new in Italy. Its unusual colour 163 Rosso Ossido and grey interior are its original combination that it still wears today. Its original and elegant colour is a perfect match and the grey velvet upholstery is in a very good state of preservation, as is the rest of the interior. Now owned by an amateur of beautiful Italian cars in the Avignon area, this Dino 2400 coupe has a beautiful patina and has benefited from a complete polishing of the body just after our photo shoot. Four new tyres will also be fitted for sale on the original Cromodora rims. Since its acquisition in 2016, the current owner will have followed the routine maintenance of his car, including a review of the braking system in December 2017, followed by the repair of a few comfort features such as the power window controls and, more recently, the carburettor adjustment. During our test drive, the car's behaviour proved to be healthy and homogeneous, letting the singing of the V6 Dino express itself in the revs. At this price level, it's up to you to take your chance!
