When Ferrari replaced the 360 in 2005, the F430 arrived with an all-new 4.3-liter V8 rather than an evolution of the outgoing engine. Designated F136 E, it produces 483 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and sends drive to the rear wheels through a six-speed F1 paddle-shift gearbox. The F430 was also the first road-going Ferrari to carry the steering wheel-mounted manettino and the E-Diff electronic differential, both developed directly from the company's Formula 1 program. Skyhook adaptive damping, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes and a flat underbody with rear diffuser complete the package, good for 0-60 mph in approximately 3.6 seconds.

This example was specified the way collectors look for. Scuderia Shields on the front fenders, Daytona-style seats and a colored dash set off the Rosso Corsa paintwork, while Yellow brake calipers, a carbon fiber rear grill and a premium Hi-Fi sound system round out the build. In Spider form, the folding soft top places that 4.3-liter V8 directly behind the occupants with nothing in the way of the sound.

At 13,000 miles from new, this F430 Spider has been driven sparingly and cared for accordingly. It has recently been serviced by a Ferrari specialist, with records on file and available for review.
