  • $378,164 MSRP, with over $65,000 worth of optional equipment
  • Showing just over 6,000 mi. on the odometer at the time of cataloguing

Ferrari’s 599 GTB was introduced as the successor to the 575M Maranello when it was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2006. While the earlier car was largely based on the 550 Maranello, the 599 GTB would be an all-new model throughout. The 599 GTB boasted bodywork designed by Pininfarina, which sought to improve the car’s aerodynamics and was defined by rear buttresses that helped to channel air to the rear deck and increase downforce.

Mechanically, the car’s engine retained the same basic architecture of the V-12 in the Enzo, and it could produce 611 horsepower, which was a 71-horsepower increase over the engine in the 575M Maranello. The engine was mated to a new F1-SuperFast gearbox that could shift in just 60 milliseconds, which helped propel the 599 from 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds and to a top speed of 205 mph.

Delivered new via Ferrari Washington of Sterling, Virginia, this 599 GTB Fiorano is finished in stunning Blu Mariner paint over a Beige Daytona sport seat interior. Exceptionally rare, consensus believes this may be the second-ever Ferrari, the other being an F430, to be factory-finished in this shade. Significant options include carbon fiber driving and cabin zones (in combination, over $12,500), as well as yellow brake calipers, Daytona-style seats with leather backrests, parking sensors, and a Bose hi-fi system with six-CD changer. Extra-cost “Scuderia Ferrari” shields on the front quarter panels complete the exterior.

As a copy of the original vehicle window sticker attests, optional equipment brought the car from its $312,395 base price to a total cost of $378,164. Having been driven fewer than 7,000 miles from new at cataloguing, this 599 GTB shows in exceptional cosmetic condition. Prior to being sent to the sale, this car is said to have received an inspection and routine service.

The 599 is arguably one of the finest gran turismo berlinettas ever produced by Ferrari, and this example is an outstanding representation of its type.To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/auctions/mo25/.
