• 4.2 litre Supercharged V8
• Final edition four seat facelift X358
The Jaguar XJ was manufactured by Jaguar Cars for model years 2003-2009 as the third generation of the Jaguar XJ saloon, carrying the internal designation X350 and X358 following its 2007 facelift. Available with a six-speed automatic transmission, a range of petrol and diesel engines, numerous trim levels, and short wheelbase or long wheelbase. The Super V8 was the most expensive model at £68,500, with the XJR being the second most expensive model in the range at £58,500. The Super V8 debuted in 2003 with the new X350 body style, initially a short wheelbase configuration. This became an option in 2004 when a long wheelbase configuration was introduced, along with the supercharged variation of the XJ8 with the more luxurious Vanden Plas or Daimler interior. Its primary competitor was the Maserati Quattroporte. A distinctive wire mesh grille and chrome-finished side mirrors set the Super V8 and the XJR apart from the less expensive XJ saloons. In 2005, the Super V8 model was replaced by the Daimler Super Eight. The Daimler Super Eight was essentially the same car but had a different grille, boxwood inlays finished in wood veneer, and several other interior luxuries as standard. Since the 1980s, Daimler was the official state car for the British prime minister.
This stunning and rare facelift 4.2 litre Supercharged V8 Super Eight final edition is finished in Midnight Pearl Mica with a full Ivory leather and D monogrammed headrests over the rare four set configuration. First registered in 2008 where it spent its early years in Japan, this example was brought back to the UK in 2017 where it then remained in a collection until 2020 when it was registered in the UK. A car synonymous with state cars, the Super Eight was a clear £10,000 more expensive than the top of the line XJR that Jaguar produced from new and with the specification we can see why, options include; electric tilt and slide sunroof, chrome wing blades and door mirrors, Xenon headlamps with power wash, 19" unique Daimler alloy wheels, double glazed acoustic glass, reverse camera, heated steering wheel, air conditioned and three stage heated front seats, speed limiter with radar active cruise control, Alpine audio system and satellite navigation, four-zone climate control, electric seats pedals and mirrors with memory, rear heated electric recline seats with three position memory function, rear entertainment console and TV screens, picnic tables, rear door blinds and electric rear screen blind and sheepskin over rugs. Offered in full UK specification with over £8,000 spent on maintenance including new shock absorbers, a gearbox service and new headliner all undertaken within the last five years, itemised bills can be found in the history file alongside two full keys, service history and handbook set. This is an incredibly rare and collectable example in fabulous condition throughout. Consigned by Mathew Priddy
