"The Chevrolet Corvette is instantly recognisable by the marque aficionado and non-aficionado alike. The first model, a convertible, was designed by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car. Originally built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri, the Corvette, today, is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The third generation Corvette, the C3, was designed along the lines of the Mako Shark II concept car and was introduced for the 1968 model year continuing in production until 1982. Engines and chassis components were mostly carried over from the C2 but the body and interior were all new.
The example offered here is from the last year of the convertible C3 production run. The previous custodian owned the car for 31 years before our vendor acquired it and subsequently imported it to the UK in January 2017. Offered in a desirable colour combination, the interior is very pleasant as is the paintwork which remains in good order throughout, although there are a few minor blemishes to show. Fitted with a Chevrolet stereo and a meaty quad exhaust system, this C3 is both fast and loud!
