This first-year, non-catalytic converter example of the E30-generation M3 was built for the domestic German market, with production completed on 22 December 1986. Equipped from new with BMW’s type S14 motor, the M3 gained the five-speed Getrag “dogleg” gearbox that was exclusive to European-delivered cars.

Wearing the smart colour combination of Alpine White over Black leather, it was configured with a sizeable optional extras list. Special equipment included air conditioning, a tilting and sliding sunroof, electric front windows, a rear sun blind, levelling headlights with a cleaning system, and an onboard computer.

Less than a year after its first delivery, the BMW was registered in Japan in August 1987, staying in the country until December 2018. The M3 was imported to Italy in 2022 by its consigning owner, who took the car to their residence in Spain but keeping it registered in Italy. In their care, the BMW was maintained by the workshop Autofficina Adolfo, with a summary of work available to view on file.

The supporting BMW Classic Birth Certificate confirms first delivery to Autohaus Augsburg Fritz Kummer KG. Today, the BMW presents in its factory-correct colour pairing and is offered from careful ownership with 99,607 kilometres showing on the odometer at the time of cataloguing.
