- Exceptional condition
- In strictly original configuration
- The best looking Mini Cooper of the old generation

Convinced of the sporting potential offered by the Mini that had appeared two years earlier, John Cooper created a first version in 1961 with a capacity of 997cc and 55 bhp. Two years went by before the engine increased to 1071 cc, which offered some 70 bhp. This was still not enough for the preparer who unveiled two new models in 1965, the Cooper " entry level " and its evolution the " Cooper S " promising 1275cc and 76 bhp. Having already won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, this gives us a sense of his ambition for the future...
The model on offer was sold new in France and is presented in its original configuration even though it underwent major restoration work between 1993 and 2008. Photographs of the restoration show clearly that the car has its original body, with the genuine chassis plate. It is recorded as a 7cv on the registration document. A large file of bills reflects the scale of the work carried out. The car has the AEG312 block, AEG316 crankshaft and AEG177 rods, and a 22G333 gearbox and 23D4 ignition. The original body is in 'Almond Green' with 'Old English White' roof and the interior sports a combination of Porcelain Green and Dore Grey.
The " Jean Louis Marnat " dashboard is also original with its speedometer graduated up to 200 km/h. The car's first owner, André Sabatini, from Mougins, used it in local hillclimb events. It was sold in 1993 to Monsieur Eydoux and has known just four owners in total. The options include a fresh air fan and reclining seats. It would be hard to find another Mini Cooper S as authentic as this, in such good condition with an interesting sporting history.
