Aston Martin launched the V8 Volante in June 1978 in response to the growing demand for a convertible version. The V8 Volante remained in production for 11 years, evolving with engineering upgrades while retaining its iconic, muscular character thanks to Tadek Marek's renowned 5.3-liter V8. The most notable changes occurred in 1986, when the model received Weber/Marelli electronic fuel injection and a streamlined flat hood, giving the car improved aerodynamics.
This 1986 Aston Martin V8 Volante is finished in its factory correct Suffolk Red according to its included Aston Martin Record Card. It also retains its factory Natural Connolly leather interior; complemented by a Natural soft top and Beige Onslow carpets. This example was delivered new to the U.S. through Palm Beach Motor Cars in Florida, and remained in the state for almost 20 years according to its CARFAX Vehicle History Report. The CARFAX notes a potential odometer rollback during a service in 1998, but it is believed to a clerical error and the car's current mileage is understood to be accurate.
The striking convertible Aston was later imported to Europe in 2003 whereupon it was purchased by its next long-term owner located in Switzerland. Here it was regularly maintained by noted Aston Martin specialists Aston Riviera Cars for nearly 20 years. After two decades of long-term private ownership, it was acquired by the consignor in 2024 and has remained local ever since. Today it is accompanied by its original owner's handbooks, Aston Martin build sheet, and CARFAX Report.
