The Vantage GT2 we are offering is chassis 008, built in 2011. That year Aston Martin Racing wouldn’t enter officially in the newer GTE category, all of its efforts being focused on the LMP1 « AMR-One » project which unfortunately turned into a disaster. However a redesign of the GT2 car was conducted over the winter and AMR entrusted Jota Sport to run our car and Gulf Middle East the chassis 009. To list only a few of the modifications, the two cars received an upgraded and more reliable engine, the great X-Trac gearbox with paddles ( earlier cars ran a road car based gearbox ) and air-conditioning. These would actually be fitted in 2012 on the GTE version, both chassis 008 & 009 being entered as « GTE Pro » that season. Chassis 008 ran in ELMS and at Le Mans 24 Hours, maintained at the highest level by Jota Sport ( 2nd & 3rd OA at the 2017 Le Mans 24h ). It was retired from racing at the end of 2011. In 2012 it was sold to a private owner who participated in the Aston Martin Le Mans Festival with Jota Sport, then it was sent to Prodrive in the winter of 2013 to be completely rebuilt with bills in excess of £100,000. The car completed a shake down in Spain with Prodrive and was then put into storage. In the meantime the owner luckily managed to purchase all the spares available for the GT2 cars from Prodrive, basically a full truck of spares, mostly new and valued at about £250,000.
In 2017 Art & Revs purchased the chassis 008 after its four year storage and we conducted a comprehensive service under the supervision of a Prodrive engineer and have had two track days since with the car. At Le Castellet the car shown a real speed, was an immense joy and turned out to be to be very easy to drive with the traction control & paddle shift. We also put it back in its 2011 Le Mans color scheme, surely one of the nicest seen on an AMR car.
Chassis 008 is now available ready to race again and comes with the enormous spares package from the GT2 program. It has only covered 800km since the rebuild at Prodrive with a 5000km potential on the main mechanical components.
This is an amazing opportunity to acquire a very late specification car with such a fantastic provenance, very likely the best of the Vantage GT2s in existence.

Having acquired a very good knowledge of the car, Art & Revs would be more then happy to offer customer assistance to the new owner either to participate in any track days and demos with Global Endurance Legends or races in Masters Historic.
