Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 QV

Going for a last-minute this summer? Our 1990 Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 Quadrifoglio Verde gives just that final push in the right direction. Destination: unknown. You’ll understand after paying a visit to Prins; chin up, soft-top down and everywhere the sun shines, you’ll shine as well. This stunning Alfa Spider QV version is completely original and drove its first kilometers in la bella Italia. The last 20 years it was possessed by only 1 (Dutch) owner, explaining the extraordinary condition of our classic red roadster. You can feel the finesse of maintenance in the original 2,0 liter engine, while the soft-top is almost brand new. You’re already planning a visit to Holland now, aren’t you?

History
When we say Alfa Romeo, we say Italy. And when we say Italy, we say Alfa Romeo. No wonder a car like this Spider QV first drove its kilometers in its country of birth. However, after 10 years the authentic beauty was discovered by the Netherlands. Another 2 years later, in 2002, the Alfa Spider 2.0 Quadrifoglio Verde came into the hands of its former owner. It took him 2 decades before he was ready to offer it for sale at Prins. Now the time has finally come; who will benefit to the max?

Exterior
The original Alfa Romeo Spider is a real charmer. Especially this Quadrifoglio Verde has lots of fans. Some visual differences with the non-QV versions: modified bumper spoilers, a set of newly designed 15-inch wheels and sturdy side skirts make the Alfa Spider Quadrifoglio Verde just that little bit desirable. The black grille and rear spoiler are typical design features from the 3rd series Spiders called "Aerodinamica". Characteristics such as the round headlights, chrome windscreen strips and door handles have remained intact since the original 1966 model, also known as “Duetto”. This QV was introduced in 1986 and only available in red, silver or black. In Rosso Alfa, the fiery nature really comes to life, so that color is often preferred. Some contrast is offered by recently replaced black soft-top. Nevertheless, the most beautiful thing about it is you can put it down… Easily.

Interior
The gorgeous, original condition of the Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio Verde is also very clear on the inside. The gray leather seats are neat and the Rosso stitching is incredibly stylish, but it’s the bright red floor carpet that will put the greatest smile on your face. The Philips audio is quite time correct and the gear shift is integrated in the black dashboard in a way that it’s always within reach. What do you mean, a true driver’s car?

Technique & performance
You can't argue with the performance of an Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 Veloce. Hence the choice to provide the Quadrifoglio Verde version with the same power unit. The 2.0 liter 4-cylinder Twin Cam produces 128 hp and a classic rumble; also known as a typical “Alfa sound”. The limited car weight and direct steering perfectly match the sporty DNA of the Romeo among the Spiders. Engine in the front and drive on the rear wheels used to be the recipe for a unique Alfa driving experience. History repeats itself…

Cordiali Saluti,
Prins Classics.
