Below is the story of this fantastic car as we described it in 2021 when we bought it in Belgium and immediately found a Dutch enthusiast for it. Circumstances changed, and the current owner called us to ask if we were interested in buying the Spider back. We were delighted to do so, as we already knew the quality was excellent and that the owner had taken good care of it. Despite the low mileage (the current odometer reading is only 61.675 km), the necessary maintenance has been carried out by Brabant-based classic Alfa Romeo specialist Goos van Pelt. For example, in addition to the regular major service, four new Michelin tires were recently installed, and a brake caliper, battery, and two engine mounts were replaced. All the mechanicals are therefore in excellent order, and the car is ready to enjoy the coming beautiful weather. Of course, all invoices and documents are included. We are pleased to offer another truly authentic Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0, with a complete history and in excellent condition.

2021:

It took quite a bit of searching, but here we have another beautiful Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0. We love spending the necessary time finding a nice example, because as you may know, we're crazy about them. This time, we had to travel to Belgium. In a picturesque village, this 1990 Spider was waiting for us in a beautiful garage: under a sleek red cover, heated, and spotlessly clean. This had been the Italian convertible's "living room" for 27 years. Back then, it was a gift to his wife, who enjoyed it, but never really put many kilometers on it. Therefore, the current odometer reading is only 58.806.

A pleasant introduction to the man and the owner immediately gave us the impression that we were dealing with true enthusiasts. Not only were their cars meticulously cared for, but their house and yard also looked sublime. Grandfather even stopped by to see if these "Dutchmen" were true enthusiasts, otherwise we'd have to rush back home. In their opinion, the pampering of the Spider over all those years naturally had to be continued by a true "Alfist," or the car would remain safely in Belgium. We were able to reassure them that our clientele consists exclusively of enthusiasts who, with the purchase of a car like this, always see a long-cherished dream fulfilled and want to enjoy it for years to come.

In short, the Spider was purchased and prepared for delivery. Maintenance was always performed promptly, and all booklets and invoices are present, even the purchase invoice. Unfortunately, the interior showed a worn spot on the driver's seat, something we often see with Spiders. The Alcantara and faux leather seat apparently lacked sufficient support for the Belgian driver, and something had to be done about that. Repair might have been possible, but we opted for replacement of the foam interior and new upholstery for both the left and right seats. Now everything looks perfect again and will last for decades.

Mechanically sound, beautiful exterior, interior as good as new, practically new soft top, and fantastic driving experience: what more could you want? Oh yes... a good price is probably important. And that's certainly true considering the excellent quality. So, nothing stands in the way of enjoying yourself to the fullest.

Onderstaand het verhaal van deze fantastische auto zoals we dat in 2021 beschreven toen we de auto in België kochten en er direct een Nederlandse liefhebber voor vonden. Omstandigheden veranderen en de huidige eigenaar belde ons om te vragen of we interesse hadden de Spider terug te kopen. Dat deden we natuurlijk heel graag want we wisten al hoe goed de kwaliteit was, en ook dat de eigenaar er goed op had gepast. Ondanks de weinig gereden kilometers (de huidige kilometerstand is slechts 61.675 km) is toch het nodige onderhoud gedaan door de Brabantse klassieke Alfa specialist Goos van Pelt. Zo zijn er onlangs buiten het normale groot onderhoud om, onder meer vier nieuwe Michelin banden gemonteerd, en een remklauw, de accu, en twee motorsteunen vervangen. Alle techniek is dus prima op orde en de auto is klaar om van het komende mooie weer te genieten. Natuurlijk zijn alle facturen en documenten aanwezig. Wij zijn blij weer een hele echte Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 aan te kunnen bieden, waarvan de complete historie bekend is en die in uitmuntende staat is.

2021:
Het kostte weer de nodige zoektochten, maar hier hebben we wederom een prachtige Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0. We spenderen graag de nodige tijd om een mooi exemplaar te vinden, want zoals u wellicht weet zijn we er dol op. Deze keer moesten we naar België afreizen. In een schilderachtig dorpje stond deze Spider, van bouwjaar 1990, op ons te wachten in een prachtige garage: onder een strakke rode afdekhoes, verwarmd en brandschoon. Dit was 27 jaar lang de “huiskamer’ geweest van de Italiaanse cabrio. Destijds was het een cadeau geweest aan de echtgenote die er weliswaar van genoot, maar nooit echt veel kilometers mee maakte. De huidige kilometerstand is daarom slechts 58.806

Een leuke kennismaking met de heer des huizes en de eigenaresse leverde al gelijk de indruk dat we hier te maken hadden met echte liefhebbers. Niet alleen netjes op hun auto’s, maar ook hun huis en erf zag er allemaal subliem uit. Ook grootvader kwam nog even kijken of die “Ollanders” wel echte liefhebbers waren, want anders konden we weer snel huiswaarts keren. Het vertroetelen van de Spider gedurende al die jaren moest naar hun mening natuurlijk wel worden voortgezet door ook een echte “Alfist”, want anders bleef de auto mooi in België staan. We konden ze geruststellen dat onze klantenkring uitsluitend uit liefhebbers bestaat, die met de aankoop van een auto als deze altijd een lang gekoesterde wens in vervulling zien gaan, en er jarenlang van willen gaan genieten.

Kortom, de Spider werd gekocht en afleveringsklaar gemaakt. Het onderhoud is altijd keurig op tijd gedaan en alle boekjes en facturen zijn aanwezig, zelfs de aankoopfactuur. Het interieur vertoonde helaas op de bestuurdersstoel een slijtageplek. Iets wat we vaker zien bij een Spider. De met Alcantara en kunstleder bekleedde stoel had toch blijkbaar toch te weinig weerstand voor de Belgische bestuurder en daar moest wat aan gedaan worden. Repareren was misschien mogelijk geweest, maar wij kozen voor vernieuwing van het foam binnenwerk en nieuwe bekleding van zowel de linker- als rechterstoel. Nu ziet er het allemaal weer perfect uit en kan weer tientallen jaren mee.

Techniek in orde, uiterlijk prachtig, interieur weer als nieuw, zo goed als nieuwe softtop en geweldig rijdend: meer te wensen valt er toch niet? O ja…, een goede prijs is wellicht belangrijk. Dat zit ook wel goed gezien de geweldige kwaliteit. Niets staat dus meer in de weg om heerlijk te genieten.
