The great Alfa Romeo 6C 2500
Presented in 1939 the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 was the last car produced before the Second World War, and also the first with which to "restart" the Portello factory in the post-war.
In fact, the 6C 2500 represents a ‘bridge to post-World War II production’, the transition between a traditional and a new, more modern concept of automobile manufacturing.

The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 is the evolution of the 6C 2300 / B: it maintains the rear suspension with torsion bars and telescopic shock absorbers. An important update concerned the braking system, no longer mechanical but hydraulic.
The range included the Turismo versions (five or seven seats), Sport and Super Sport (with short-wheelbase), and bodied by some of the most famous coachbuilders of the time: Touring, Bertone, Zagato, Castagna, and of course, Pinin Farina.

Despite the high price, the 6C 2500 was very successful.
The 6C 2500 in the Super Sport version, capable of delivering 110 horsepower, reached 170 km/hour. Impressive numbers for the time!
Only 425 Super Sport chassis were produced of which 171 went to Pininfarina, and of these only 63 were used for the Cabriolet version.
However, good to point out that the production data for this period are not entirely complete.
The 6C 2500 remained in production until 1952 after approximately 2.600 total units produced.

Chassis number 915.756
This beautiful 6C 2500, is the most sought-after short-wheelbase version with a more powerful engine, also known as SS (Super Sport).
Chassis number "915.756" left the factory on March 16, 1949, and was delivered as a complete car (with bodywork) on October 10 to Società per il Commercio Prodotti Alfa Romeo in Lugano, Switzerland, where it was first registered in 1950.

Its origins are confirmed by the book Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 by Angelo Anselmi and by the Alfa Romeo 6C 2300-2500 by Morlacchi & Salvetti.

The 6C 2500 SS Cabriolet offered here has been completely restored between 1990 - 2010 and is in beautiful condition: engine, gearbox, brakes, and brakes all work perfectly.
Finished in Black over beige leather interior, the car is powered by a 2.5 liter (matching numbers) inline 6-cylinder engine.

Delivered with his Swiss Carte Grise, this 6C 2500 Cabriolet by Pininfarina represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a great classic Alfa Romeo, perfect for all the most important Concours d'Elegance, historic rallies, and other prestigious events.

This car is participating at the Concours d'Elegance - Classic Gala Schwetzingen (Germany) and will be visible on our Catawiki stand from 03 to 05.09.2021.
