Description

One of the most iconic pre-war sports cars, the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport stands as a testament to Vittorio Jano’s masterful engineering and Alfa Romeo’s golden era of sporting success. Built upon the legacy of the championship-winning P2 Grand Prix car, the 6C 1750 combined lightweight construction, exceptional performance, and impeccable craftsmanship.

This beautifully presented example, first registered in March 1929, features the highly desirable Zagato coachwork — a name synonymous with lightweight, aerodynamic competition cars. Around 1936–1937, it was fitted at the factory with a 6C 2300 'Pescara' triple-carburetor engine, paired with its correct gearbox, adding even greater performance to an already remarkable machine. It also benefits from period-correct upgrades such as an electric fuel pump and electric cooling fan.

Known ownership history begins with Romeo Paoli in Northeast Africa, where it notably claimed the Eritrean Hill Climb Championship in 1954. From the 1960s onwards, the car passed through respected enthusiasts across the UK, Switzerland, and Germany before being acquired by the current owner in 2004.

Finished in a striking black-over-black color scheme, this Alfa Romeo retains much of its original Zagato bodywork and presents beautifully today. Recent mechanical works include a comprehensive engine rebuild by B&F Touring-Garage and major servicing by CarXpert in 2022 and 2023. The car is accompanied by an exceptional history file including period photographs, previous owner correspondence, Alfa Romeo reference materials, a FIVA Identity Card, FIA Historic Technical Passport, and a copy of its Alfa Romeo Register entry.

Offered with a Luxembourg registration, this Zagato-bodied 6C 1750 Super Sport — with multiple Mille Miglia Storica participations — represents an extraordinary opportunity to acquire one of the most celebrated and collectible Alfa Romeos of its time. Importantly, this is a unique car featuring original Zagato coachwork and accompanied by a Mille Miglia Registro certificate. It is fully eligible and ready for the 2026 Mille Miglia.

As proud sponsors of the Mille Miglia, we warmly invite the future owner to join us for participation in the 2026 edition. We look forward to experiencing this unforgettable event together.
