Vintage watches for a handful of dollars at Antiquorum’s New York auction

Of course, you could blow a small fortune on a single watch at Antiquorum’s 30 September sale in New York – but there are plenty of desirable timepieces with quite reasonable estimates attached. Here is our selection of the relatively affordable examples being offered…

Without a doubt, the community of high-end watch collectors will be paying close attention to Antiquorum’s grand watch auction in New York. For a start, there’s a rare Richard Mille RM 010 Yohan Blake Tourbillon Skeleton on offer for $360,000 – $460,000 that would be well-suited as a prop in a Marvel comic adaptation. At the more traditionally tasteful end of the spectrum is a platinum Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Ref. 5204P-001, expected to fetch $200,000 – $300,000. But even at lower price points, you’ll still be able to find some desirable timepieces: how about a special 1960s Heuer Autavia produced for fashion label Abercrombie & Fitch ($5,000 – $7,000), or a Breitling Ref. 2005 Superocean from the same decade for $2,000 – $3,000? That said, it’ll take someone with very particular tastes to go for the Rolex Oyster Dominos Pizza special. In any case, you’ll find our favourite affordable watches from the sale below; alternatively, you can view all 313 watches from the lotlist for Antiquorum’s New York auction in the Classic Driver Market.
