Montblanc’s 1858 Chronograph says it with champagne

Designing a modern timepiece with a tasteful vintage aesthetic is no mean feat, and countless watchmakers have tried and failed. Fortunately for Montblanc, it has a rich heritage from which to draw inspiration…

Never forget your roots

Montblanc’s new 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter is a reinterpretation of the 1930s military timepieces from Minerva, the company it purchased to form the foundations of its watchmaking branch in 2006. The champagne-coloured dial featuring cathedral-shaped hands coupled with the company’s first bronze case creates a retro watch that’s well within the bounds of good taste. In fact, if it weren’t for the Super Luminova markings on the dial, you’d easily forget that it was built in 2016. We’d recommend acting fast if you’d like to secure one of the 100 bronze beauties that will be built.
