Meet the 6 new automobile & racing watches you need on your wrist this season

If you’re looking for a car-themed accessory this season, you’re in luck. Here at Classic Driver, we’re always on the lookout for new and stylish additions to our wardrobes, and we’ve hand-picked six of our favourite automotive-inspired watches available in the CD Shop.

Autodromo Group B & C

These guys certainly know a thing or two about bringing together the influences from the automotive world in a wearable, durable and oh-so-stylish accessory for your wrist. Born out of a life-long admiration for cars and watches, Bradley Price created Autodromo in 2008, promising to fill the gap in the market for affordable automotive watches with beautiful craftsmanship and design.

The watches do far more than simply sit on your wrist, they tell stories, bringing together inspiration from by-gone eras of motorsport with impeccable craftsmanship and details. Of the many releases Autodromo has dropped over the years, our picks would be the Group B and Group C variants. The Group B celebrates rally icons of the 1980s and has secured itself as the brand’s best-selling design, while the Group C is the complete opposite. This digital watch is the one you most likely dreamt of as a kid but built with durability and style at its core. Whichever model you choose, you can expect to turn some heads while wearing an Autodromo watch!

Unimatic x Automobili Amos UT4-AA3

There are brands out there that seemingly get it perfectly right with every seasonal collection they release. Automobili Amos is just that, consistently setting the bar for bringing fashionable car-themed clothing to the world for a number of years now. Alongside the brand’s exquisite restomodded Lancia Delta Integrales, AA also find the time to bring some creativity to the watch world, and their latest collaboration with renowned minimalist watchmakers Unimatic is one that’s high on our Christmas wish list.

Limited to just 200 units, the cleverly named UnimAAtic UT4-AA3 is designed to endure the harshest conditions while exuding standout style, dressed in a bazooka green Cerakote coating on a 40mm stainless steel case. What sets this piece apart, though, is over time this coating gradually wears off in a distinctive pattern, adding a unique worn-in aesthetic that enhances each watch’s individuality. A clever showpiece from AA, and one that ensures it is a true one-of-a-kind collector’s item!

Baltic Tricompax 'Panda'

French watchmakers Baltic have mastered the art of creating timelessly designed watches that are as durable as they are dressy, drawing inspiration from some of the industry’s greats, all while adding their signature French charm to what are exceptionally well-made watches for affordable prices. The team recently put their watches to the test, competing in the gruelling Tour Auto with a Baltic-liveried BMW M1.

Of the many classy dress watches and stainless-steel wonders the brand makes, our pick would be the Tricompax. This incredibly popular piece pays tribute to the golden age of motorsport and boasts a mechanical hand-wound chronograph movement developed by the Swiss manufacturer Sellita. With over 60 hours of power reserve, this complication movement is known for its robustness and exemplary reliability.

TAG Heuer Monaco 'Racing Green'

Of course, TAG Heuer needs absolutely no introduction. Their timeless designs have been the source of inspiration for many aspiring creators for decades, some of which are even on this list. Of the countless iconic pieces that have carried the TAG Heuer name, none are as instantly recognisable as the Monaco.

Many variations of the Monaco exist, but their latest release finished in Racing Green might just be one of our favourites. Powered by the legendary Calibre 11 automatic movement, this limited-edition timepiece is a paragon of precision, while the iconic crown on the left side of the case is a hallmark of the Monaco. Sure, it may be the most expensive on this list, but there truly is nothing quite like the history and significance of wearing a watch like the Monaco.

Depancel Allure

They might be the newest addition to the CD Shop, but Depancel are a brand we feel have a very promising future in the world of automotive themed watches. Depancel bring a true old-but-new flavour to their watch designs, using an array of colours that allow the watches to stand out, while remaining subtle and understated.

As a steady lineup of designs emerges from the French brand, their new Allure is a piece that caught our attention. Made from durable stainless-steel, this 36 mm watch stands out as a real stylistic breakthrough for the brand. Inspired by the vintage style of the 1970s yet embodying modernity, this sporty watch reimagines the classic Allure chronograph design with a new case, specially designed to accommodate Depancel's first integrated metal bracelet.
