Drivers Hall Auto Club kicks off new Torque Talks with Alois Ruf

Our friends from Drivers Hall have just launched a new Auto Club for passionate drivers from Berlin and beyond. Last week, the community came together for a first edition of the new “Torque Talks” series with special guest Alois Ruf.

You might know Drivers Hall as the ultimate supercar storage facility in Berlin. But Drivers Hall offers much more than that: it’s a showroom for the rarest automotive unicorns, a renowned specialist for curating and consulting car collections – and a fast-growing car community thanks to the recently launched Drivers Hall Auto Club. So naturally, many movers and shakers from Berlin’s automotive community were present when Drivers Hall Auto Club – or DHAC, as it's known – launched a new series of automotive panel discussions, aptly named “Torque Talks”. Hosted in the stylish setting of the club’s iconic clubhouse in Berlin-Spandau, the evening brought together a passionate audience of DHAC members of the club for the first in what promises to be a long-running series of captivating automotive conversations.

The first session of “Torque Talks” welcomed one of the most revered figures in the automotive world, Alois Ruf. As the founder of RUF Automobile, Alois is known for his influential work with Porsche as well as his independently created sportscars. Ruf's name is synonymous with performance, innovation, and a distinct take on the art of car crafting. The conversation, hosted by Classic Driver CEO JP Rathgen, took the audience on a journey through the evolution of Alois Ruf’s career, from humble beginnings to the development of the world-renowned Ruf CTR. The stories were insightful and, at times, humorous, offering a rare personal glimpse into the man behind the marque that has become an automotive powerhouse in its own right.

A particular highlight of the evening was the presence of the Ruf CTR Anniversary — a beautifully engineered machine that pays homage to the legacy of Ruf's iconic Yellowbird. For the first time, the sporty two-seater is based on a carbon fiber monocoque completely developed by Ruf. DHAC members in attendance were given the rare opportunity to see the car up close, admiring its meticulous details and innovative design. Alois Ruf shared anecdotes about its development and his philosophy on blending tradition with cutting-edge technology in conversations with the audience.

During the evening, the Drivers Hall Auto Club once again forged its reputation as a central hub for automotive aficionados to connect and share their passion. The “Torque Talks” series is set to become a staple for club members, promising regular appearances from key figures in the industry who will share their insights on automotive culture, design, and history.

This inaugural evening not only celebrated the success of Alois Ruf but also set the tone for future discussions that will surely captivate the car-loving community. The blend of history, personal experience, and up-close access to legendary vehicles like the CTR Anniversary car made it an unmissable event, whetting the appetite for what’s to come in the “Torque Talks” series.
