The Queen's Daimler Super V8 LWB comes to auction

Has ‘one careful lady owner’ ever been more apt? This unique Daimler Super V8 LWB, which will go on sale next month, was once the personal transportation of Her Majesty The Queen and, as you’d expect, it comes with all the mod cons essential for a Royal’s day-to-day affairs…

Daimler has a distinguished royal connection; its limousines have carried monarchs in comfort and style ever since King Edward VII. In order to gain royal approval on the all-important delivery date, the manufacturer fastidiously prepared this 2001 Super V8 LWB through some 2,500 pre-delivery miles, testing every nut and bolt, ensuring everything was in order.

Features you won’t find on other Daimlers include a sliding armrest rail, especially designed for Her Majesty’s handbag, fully functioning flashing security lights (operated by a control panel in a converted ashtray) and fittings to contact Downing Street and the Home Office directly, though these have since been disconnected.

This incredibly well-maintained saloon, resplendent in British Racing Green, has covered just 15,000 miles and will be offered at Historics at Brooklands' late summer sale on Saturday 31st August in Surrey, England. If you’re looking for a regal mode of transport, this Daimler really is fit for a queen.
