The racing world well and truly has Le Mans fever. It’s a race known for its unpredictability, its ever-changing weather, its mind-bendingly long back straight, and of course, the sheer elation from the overall winners as they lift that coveted trophy. Racing at the highest level is one thing but beating some of the best racers in the world, on a circuit that takes absolutely no prisoners is another, and during its 100-year history, there have been some incredible race cars that have graced the circuit.
Those race cars are exactly what inspired the talented bunch of perfectionists at Automobilist were most interested in, and have digitally created some of Le Mans’ most defining cars in the form of digital art. As we near closer to the official start of the 24hr, more and more cars will be unveiled, but so far, we’ve seen the monstrous Sauber C9, Ford’s dominating GT40, even the Bugatti and stormed the Mulsane straight in 1937.
