This might be the ultimate Alfa Romeo racecar collection – and it’s up for sale

RM Sotheby’s has just announced a first highlight of its much-anticipated Monterey sale. Headlined by a rare Alfa Romeo T33/2 ‘Daytona’ factory prototype, twelve historic Alfa Romeos from the golden era of motorsport will hit the block on 15-16 August in California.

The RM Sotheby’s Monterey auction 2025 will host the Quadrifoglio Collection – twelve rare racing Alfa Romeos that define the golden age of Italian motorsport. The 1968 Alfa Romeo T33/2 ‘Daytona’ (1.7–2 million dollars), one of ten surviving examples with a 2.5L V8 and storied endurance pedigree, headlines the sale. A 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ-1 ‘Double Bubble’ (700,000–900,000 dollars), built for Dmitri Nabokov, brings literary flair and historic race provenance. The 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ ‘Coda Tronca’, with its Kamm-tail aerodynamics, represents cutting-edge early 1960s design and privateer spirit. A 1970 Alfa Romeo GTAm showcases the brute force of Alfa’s touring car dominance with flared arches and fierce Autodelta tuning. Rounding out the top five, the 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA is a featherweight legend that helped write Alfa’s touring car legacy.
