Description

SINGING BIRD BOX
Probably French. Made circa 1880.
Fine, silver gilt singing bird box. Accompanied by a key.
Two-body, florally and cherubs engraved, rectangular with
rounded corners, bird cover engraved with cherubs.
Rectangular brass, going barrel and rectangular bellows, the
revolving bird with moving wings and beak, controlled by two
cams mounted beneath the barrel wheel, gilt brass grille pierced
and engraved with foliage.
