Description

L. LEROY MARINE CHRONOMETER L. Leroy and Cie, No. 961. Made circa 1915. Fine, mahogany, two-day Marine Chronometer with 56-hour power reserve indicator. Three-body, with brass handles, the glazed upper section with hinged lid. Brass bowl and gimbaled suspension. Silvered with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and power reserve sector. Gilt spade hands. Gilt brass full plate with baluster pillars secured by screws, 13 jewels, fusee with chain and maintaining power, spring detent escapement, two-arm bimetallic balance with cylindrical weights and two mean time adjusting screws, free sprung helical balance-spring with terminal curves.
