CARRIAGE CLOCK WITH ALARM
L'Epée, France. Made in the late 20th century.
Fine, gold-plated, hour and half-hour striking, carriage
clock with day-date calendar, alarm, moon phases and lunar
calendar.
Gold plated, "gorge", polished, stepped base and upper,
4 plain pillars, glazed sides and back door, the top glazed to
view the escapement, hinged carrying handle.
White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer
minute divisions, Arabic five-minute numerals, alarm
setting, date and days of the week dials below, aperture for
the moon phases with lunar calendar. Blued steel Breguet
hands.
Rectangular, gilt brass, plain pillars, going barrels for
the going, striking and alarm trains, 11 jewels, straight-line
lever escapement, monometallic balance, selfcompensating
flat balance spring, index regulator.
