LEONARD BORDIER WATCH
GOLD, ENAMEL, PEARL &
DIAMOND
Leonard Bordier, No. 3433. Made circa 1790.
Very fine and rare, gold, painted on enamel, pearl and
rose-cut diamond-set pocket watch with outer glazed giltmetal
protective case.
Two-body, "Directoire", the bezel set with pearls, the
back decorated with translucent royal blue guilloche enamel
decorated with gold paillons and with a dog and two doves,
applied rose-cut diamond-set highlights, the center with
a navette-shaped gold and white enamel sunburst set with
rose-cut diamonds.
White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute track
with Arabic fifteen-minute numerals. Rose-cut diamond-set
hands.
42 mm., matte gilt full plate, fusee and chain, verge
escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring,
pierced and chased continental cock with polished steel
endplate, silvered regulation dial.
Movement signed, case and movement numbered.
